"The Lord's Prayer" EP
Thank you for visiting my site today!
So, It's that time again~
In the past 2 years, I have written many songs during my quite time at home as well as while I traveled, and I have been inspired by my surroundings, circumstances & life situations.
My perception of the way I view the world has been challenged over the past few years and has caused me to ask hard questions.
Many of these questions and thoughts have helped shape the songs I have written. The One person that has remained constant in this changing world is Jesus. He has been there through all the up’s and down’s and He has calmed and soothed my heart. He has lovingly cared for me, forgiven me and cared for me like no other.
Many things that happen on the other side of the world seem to have no impact on us but they do and they should. The Islamic State of Iraq and Syria was established in Iraq in 2004. ISIS is a violent Islamist extremist group that is determined to impose its harsh totalitarian Islamist ideology on all Muslims, kill off apostates, subjugate all non-Muslims and build a radical Islamic state that will launch an unending jihad until it has created a global Islamic empire. It is a revolutionary movement that uses terrorism to impose its will.
The threat is anything but over. In some places, the group is holding and even gaining ground. The most serious humanitarian crisis in the Middle East right now is the plight of millions of Syrian refugees forced to abandon their homes as a result of a civil war that has been raging since 2011.
My heart breaks for the refugees and the terrorist. Each of them have been lied to and they have grown up believing that violence and hatred is the way to please god and the way to heaven.
Efforts to help the Christians in the Middle East seem like an unending battle. Our brothers and sisters in Christ need homes, food, water, education and a safe haven.
After much prayer and discussion with others, I felt the urge to share these songs - messages of love and hope to the world- that currently exist on pieces of paper, in the iCloud and in my heart to you. My prayer is that these songs of hope will provide joy and comfort in difficult times.
So this year, I want to be more aware of the world in need be more active in doing my part to help in some way. I am partnering together with Brad and Carrie Bowen to help the Syrian refugees through the ministry of Light To The Nations.
My goal in life and the goal of the songs that I have written are one and the same - to be the light that Jesus uses to spread His message of love, hope and peace in the form of strumming of the guitar, stringing of the violin and cello, plucking of the bass, drumming of the drum and humming of the vocals, FOR the community and FOR others wherever they are in spherical ball called the planet earth.
Therefore, a group of amazing and wonderful friends and I will be recording an EP this May 2015 and we would love for your participation and support in making this recording project happen.
What can you do?
We are looking to raise $5,500 before April 30th to fund a portion of the recording cost. We will use the funds entrusted to us to produce a recording with the quality of sound and music that you expect and deserve.
Every single dollar contributed, no matter the amount, is precious and valuable in advancing this project a step closer to realization.
We will donate 50% of gross proceeds of first month sales of the record to support Syrian refugees through The Syrian Refugee Project. You and I can make this happen!
This is how you can be a part of this project:
(i) by spreading this message to your circle of co-workers, friends and family
(ii) by praying for the success of and His presence in this project
(iii) by providing funding in any amount that you feel comfortable
I am hopeful to reach the fundraising goal. Whatever the outcome, I am thankful and grateful that you are willing to take the time to read this message and to possibly consider participating in this project.
And oh yeah... I will send a “lil surprise” for the participants.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” Matthew 5:14-16 NIV
